I did a ton of research on the best SUVs with ample cargo space for my dogs and went to several different stores. Here’s what led to my purchase of the ultimate doggy mom cruiser!POSITIVES*ULTIMATE POSITIVE - My final choice of selecting the 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE from Land Rover Palm Beach. Thank you Danny Racz for making it an amazing and smooth experience.*Communicating with the store the way I want to be communicated with, via email and text.*When the salesperson acted as a client ADVISOR as opposed to a salesperson*Allowing me to look and test drive vehicles in peace*Running preliminary numbers for me per my request over email prior to me ever visiting the store so I can know what to expect before making the drive in*Being professional but friendly and casual*Quick purchase process*Being introduced to my service advisor while my purchase process was taking place. Land Rover Palm Beach offers service vehicle pickup and drop off as well.*Having my car detailed and taking pictures so I can share and leave positive reviews, adding to the excitement of my purchase.NEGATIVES (Experiences Outside of Land Rover PB)-Walking into a dealership, asking to check out a vehicle, and being immediately brought into their office to run my numbers. I’ve never even seen or driven the vehicle I’m in to see. What makes you think I want to sit in your office and run through numbers?-Being hit on during a test drive, making me incredibly uncomfortable, and never wanting to go back to that store again, despite me actually liking the vehicle!-Not being “allowed” to leave without the salesperson repeatedly going back to their sales manager to “see what they can do”. Must have gone back and forth about 4 times. That just makes me think you’re being dishonest about your numbers to begin with. Get out of here.-Being offered 4k less than the Carmax appraisal for my vehicle-Walking in saying I want a lease and the salesperson trying to sell me a vehicle instead-Payment terms varying once finance starts to finalize the deal.TAKEAWAYSInvest in great people and great follow up tools. I think working with my salesperson and his sales manager at Land Rover Palm Beach made it a positive experience for me and ultimately I didn’t want to do business anywhere else. Obviously I also loved the car, but the culture of your store and the people you employ are crucial.Also, I think if my BMW store (where I also serviced) was utilizing a data mining tool with a BDC, that they could have gotten me into the store PRIOR to me shopping for a vehicle and potentially have sold me another BMW. At CloudOne, we work behind the scenes making hundreds of thousands of these calls for our data mining partners today. There’s really no excuse for not following up with your existing client owner-base.I’m super happy with my choice. I started test driving vehicles last Saturday and ended up purchasing the following Thursday, so it was a quick and relatively painless process.
