Overview
The Rover Range Rover has been thoroughly revised for 2010 and it exudes more premium-ness than ever. New powerful engines, advanced interior technologies and enhanced driving dynamics strengthen the position of the 2010 Range Rover as Land Rover's complete luxury and flagship all-terrain vehicle. It has been termed as a blend of on-road comfort and off-road capability in a stylish package.
Powertrain And Performance
The 2010 Range Rover has two brand new engines: the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 makes 375 hp and 375 lb ft of torque and the 5.0-liter V8 supercharged pumps out 510 hp and 461 lb/ft torque. These engines are mated to the revised and super-smooth ZF HP28 6-speed automatic transmission. Both engines were developed in-house by the Jaguar Land Rover power train team, with the requirements of the Range Rover in mind from day one. The Terrain Response and Dynamic Stability Control System have been updated for all-terrain performance.
Build And Styling
Subtle exterior design modifications enhance the classic Range Rover design with contemporary details and the upgraded interior features a physical instrument cluster replaced by 12-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) screen with 'virtual' dials and information displays. State-of-the-art Adaptive Dynamics technology has been employed to further improve the Range Rover's peerless ride quality.
The new headlights feature the trademark inter-locking circle design with LED lamp technology. A new bumper completes the smoother, more sculpted front end, reflecting the clean surface integration which is now characteristic of Range Rover design. The fog lamps are relocated from the bumper skin to the lower front air-intake.The combination of interior materials and colors is excellent. The leather seats are so soft that one may like to make pillows out of them. The 7-inch touch screen display in the center console has also been updated, reducing the button count. The infotainment system, based on a computer hard drive, responds faster, offers HD radio, and is fully iPod-compatible.
Safety Features
The 2010 Range Rover features a series of enhanced active safety aids including Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Brake Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, available Automatic High Beam Assist (AHBA), and Surround Camera system.
